This is not a choice; it is an obligation we owe to Nigeria and to generations yet unborn. I extend my profound gratitude to our gracious Chief Host, Governor Seyi Makinde, and to the resilient and warm-hearted people of Oyo State for providing the ground upon which this historic resolve has been rekindled. Oyo State has a history of being present when the politics of Nigeria is to be defined.” -AA

ADC’s Reaction

In a different post on X, the African Democratic Congress spokesperson claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress was preparing to sabotage the meeting.

“We have discovered that the ruling APC intends to sabotage the opposition parties’ convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, today, April 25.

“They won’t let us hold our meetings alone after denying us access to Abuja locations. Although they claim not to be afraid, their actions suggest that they are. However, since we support the Nigerian people, we won’t be discouraged,” the post stated.

In a different post, ADC also mentioned Rotimi Amaechi’s attendance at the Summit for Opposition Party Leaders alongside former Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna and other prominent Kwankwasiyya Movement members.

The coalition party declared, “The summit sets the stage for a strategic tightening of ties between key political blocs.”
