GTAMB Celebrates 3 Years: Hope Amidst Adversity

January 2, 2025 – The Global Twins and Multiple Birth Forum (GTAMB) marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 3rd anniversary. This achievement underscores the organization’s dedication to promoting awareness, support, and research on twin and multiple births worldwide.

Since its inception, GTAMB has established a robust global network, connecting twins, multiples, and their families across the globe. This network facilitates collaboration, knowledge sharing, and support, ultimately enhancing the lives of its members.

Leadership and Teamwork

GTAMB’s success can be attributed to its visionary leadership and dedicated team. President Twin Jude Idy, from Nigeria, has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s direction and growth. The vice presidents, Upuli and Chamali Gamage, have fostered partnerships and collaborations with international organizations.

GTAMB’S CORE VALUE

“GTAMB prioritizes medical assistance for twins and multiples, particularly Conjoined Twins. Additionally, educational support through scholarships empowers them. Furthermore, member welfare initiatives ensure holistic well-being. Meanwhile, cultural exchange programs foster global unity. Consequently, GTAMB enhances the lives of twins, multiples, and their families worldwide, ultimately promoting inclusivity and support.”

Key Achievements and Initiatives

GTAMB has developed various programs and initiatives, including conferences, workshops, and online webinars. The organization launched TwinFest, a cultural and educational program, which was held globally on August 4, 2024. GTAMB has also provided support and resources for families and healthcare professionals.

In the words of President Twin Jude Idy, he said, “We are proud of what we have achieved so far.” He further elaborated by saying, “But we recognise that there is still much work to be done.” He further struck a note that people should not lose hope, which served as an encouragement.

A Call to Action

As GTAMB celebrates its 3rd anniversary, the organization urges the United Nations to escalate its peace diplomacy and pressure countries in war to give peace a chance. GTAMB decries the high death toll of children and women in war zones, emphasizing the need for international cooperation and support. The President, finally concluded by saying “I urge you to continue embracing our shared values. Let us strive to make our community more inclusive, compassionate, and empowered.”

GTAMB remains committed to its mission, striving to make a positive difference in the lives of Twin families worldwide. With its dedicated team and global network, the organization is poised to continue promoting awareness, support, and research on twin and multiple births.

The organization has officers spread across the globe, working tirelessly to bring its mantra alive: “One United Twins.” GTAMB’s global coordinators, including Mrs. Sharlene Gitten-Frances, Khaseh Ehsan, and Iman, Pachawo and Gift Petro, demonstrate the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

GTAMB hopes to continue providing support to needy and vulnerable twins and multiples. The organization aims to promote awareness, offer scholarships and awards, and participate in research initiatives, ultimately enhancing the lives of families worldwide.

GTAMB Member Countries: 3 Years of Exceptional Achievements

In the past three years, the Global Twins and Multiple Birth Forum (GTAMB) member countries have demonstrated unwavering dedication to improving the lives of twins, multiples, and their families worldwide. This article highlights the remarkable contributions of GTAMB member countries, showcasing their commitment to education, empowerment, and community development.

Nigeria: A Beacon of Hope and Philanthropy

Through the Twins Alive Foundation, Nigeria has consistently provided food for the hungry and vulnerable, sponsored education for underprivileged twins and multiples, and facilitated marriages for some. Currently, they are collaborating with the government to establish a museum in honor of Mary Slessor. This initiative not only promotes cultural heritage but also fosters community engagement and development.

Sri Lanka: A Hub for Twin Pageantry and Cultural Exchange

In October 2023, Sri Lanka’s SLTO hosted a world class national twin pageantry, featuring both male and female categories. Moreover, they attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of twins worldwide during the Global Twins Festival. SLTO also participated in China’s International Twins Festival, further solidifying their dedication to the global twins community.

Sierra Leone: Empowering Education and Excellence

The Twins and Multiple Birth Sierra Leone have awarded prestigious scholarships to deserving twins and recognized outstanding members. This initiative has not only promoted academic excellence but also encouraged community engagement and development.

Liberia: Enhancing Digital Literacy

The Liberia Twins Care Foundation has established an ICT center, providing twins with essential digital skills training. This effort aims to bridge the technological gap and empower twins to thrive in an increasingly digital world and a promise of 100 scholarships to deserving Twins.

Zimbabwe: Government Support and Advocacy

The Twins Association of Zimbabwe has successfully garnered government attention, advocating for support to prevent twins and multiples from dropping out of school. Furthermore, they are working to secure financial assistance for single mothers of twins abandoned by their spouses.
